Abstract:
To provide a light distribution control element which can be cut into a plurality of sizes and in which a lattice-shape sealing member is inconspicuous.SOLUTION: A light distribution control element comprises: a first substrate 10 having translucency; a second substrate 20 having translucency and arranged facing the first substrate 10; a first transparent conductive film 30 arranged on the second substrate 20 side of the first substrate 10; a second transparent conductive film 40 arranged on the first substrate 10 side of the second substrate 20; a liquid crystal layer 50 arranged between the first transparent conductive film 30 and the second transparent conductive film 40 and made of a liquid crystal containing a bar-like liquid crystal molecule 51; and a sealing member 60 arranged between the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20 and sealing the liquid crystal layer 50. In a plan view of the first substrate 10, the sealing member 60 is formed in a lattice shape. A refractive index of the sealing member 60 is almost equal to a refractive index in a minor axis direction of the liquid crystal molecule 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
