Abstract:
To provide an automatic operation system that issues an operation instruction to a driver amid an automatic operation, with anxiousness and discomfort of the driver suppressed.SOLUTION: An operation instruction issues a request or suggestion to a driver and requests the driver to perform a responsive operation responding to the request or suggestion. A degree of observation demand is a degree with which the driver needs to observe a vehicle surroundings situation. An observation phenomenon is a phenomenon recognized on the basis of drive environment information, a phenomenon that increases the degree of observation demand. A delay condition is a fact that the degree of observation demand exceeds a threshold or that an observation phenomenon exists. In the case of an operation instruction being necessary, an automatic operation system determines whether a delay condition is established on the basis of the drive environment information. In the case of the delay condition being established, the automatic operation system executes delay processing to standby without issuing an operation instruction. In the case of a delay completion condition being established after starting the delay processing, the automatic operation system issues an operation instruction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
