Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control system, a vehicle control method, and program that are able to ensure power required for travel of a vehicle while managing a temperature of a catalyst for exhaust gas.SOLUTION: A vehicle control system 1 comprises: a power generation unit 13 including an engine 10 that outputs power for power generation only and the electric motor 12 that generates power with power output by the engine; a storage battery 60 that stores power generated by the power generation unit; a traveling electric motor 18 coupled to a drive wheel 25 of a vehicle and configured to rotate the drive wheel by driving with power supplied from the power generation unit or the storage battery or to supply power to the power generation unit or the storage battery by regenerating power through rotating the drive wheel; and a control unit 100 that controls the power generation unit and/or the traveling electric motor on the basis of an estimated or detected temperature of a catalyst for the engine and an indication value indicating a power storage rate of the storage battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
