Abstract:
To provide novel analogs of molecules belonging to the cyclosporine family, including analogs that have reduced or no immunosuppressive activity and bind cyclophilin.SOLUTION: Analogs of cyclosporin-A are disclosed comprising modifications of the substituents at the positions of amino acids 1 and 3 in the formula (I). The compounds having affinity for cyclophilin, including cyclophilin-A. In the formula, R' is H or acetyl; R1 is a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched aliphatic carbon chain having 2 to 15 carbon atoms; and R23 is a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched aliphatic carbon chain.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
