Abstract:
To inexpensively and effectively detect whether a fuel injection valve has been fully closed between injection operations in an internal combustion engine which directly controls the fuel injection valve to perform multi-stage injection.SOLUTION: A fuel injection control device comprises: a current detection part 114 which detects an energization current to a fuel injection valve 104; and a state determination part 124 which determines a state of opening/closing operation of the fuel injection valve from the energization current flowing to the fuel injection valve. The state determination part detects a first energization current as an energization current to the fuel injection valve in starting fuel injection of multiple fuel injection in multi-stage injection operation and a second energization current as an energization current to the fuel injection valve in following fuel injection, and determines whether the fuel injection valve has been fully closed right before the following fuel injection from a deviation in time variation curve of the second energization current to a time variation curve of the first energization current.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
