Abstract:
To provide a vehicle radar system with which it is possible to determine the position of a target even when there is only one set of observation point pairs.SOLUTION: The vehicle radar system comprises radars 11-13, a detection unit 31, an extraction unit 32, a pair determination unit 33, and a target position determination unit 34. The detection unit 31 detects a plurality of observation points from observation data observed by the radars 11-13. The extraction unit 32 extracts a pair of observation points, as an observation point pair, that are located mutually in the same direction from the plurality of detected observation points, with the radars used as points of reference. The pair determination unit 33 determines an observation point, out of the extracted observation pair, that is farther from the radars 11-13 as a mirror ghost observation point and determines a nearer observation point as a reflection plane observation point. The target position determination unit 34 calculates the surface direction of the reflection plane in a bird's eye view from the reflection plane observation point and observation points around the reflection plane observation point, and determines the position of a target from the calculated surface direction and at least one of the observation point pair.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
