Abstract:
To provide an oxygen storage material which is capable of exhibiting a superior oxygen release rate even at a relatively low temperature of about 400°C and which has a superior heat resistance with its pyrolysis under high-temperature conditions ranging from about 600 to 1000°C sufficiently inhibited.SOLUTION: There is provided an oxygen storage material composed of a La-Ni-Al-based composite oxide comprising lanthanum, nickel and aluminum. The La-Ni-Al-based composite oxide is in the form of a La-Ni composite oxide having a perovskite-type structure into which at least part of the aluminum is dissolved.
