Abstract:
To provide methods for screening therapeutic agents and medicines for treating immune response disorders in patients having malignant tumor, as with a variety of diseases characterized by development of progressive immunosuppression in the patients.SOLUTION: Although regulatory T cells limit autoimmunity, they may also attenuate the level of anti-pathogen and antitumor immunity. It is necessary to identify Treg-specific receptors for understanding of the mechanism of Treg function and in vivo therapeutic treatment of Treg. The comparative analysis of gene expression arrays from antigen specific CD4+T cells that differentiate to either an effector/memory or a regulatory phenotype revealed Treg-specific expression of LAG-3(CD223), a CD4 homologue that binds to MHC class II.SELECTED DRAWING: None
