Abstract:
To realize a more appropriate conveying control by detecting wrinkle media more reliably.SOLUTION: A medium feeding device includes: a placement unit for placing a medium; feeding means for feeding the medium placed on the placement unit; wrinkle detecting means provided upstream of the feeding means in a feeding direction and outputting a detection value corresponding to a wrinkle of the medium; and control means for performing predetermined control based on the detection value of the wrinkle detecting means. The wrinkle detecting means is constituted of an optical sensor including a light emitting unit that emits light to a surface of the medium placed on the placement unit, and a light receiving unit that receives light reflected from the surface of the medium. The control means stops the feeding means when the detection value output from the wrinkle detecting means exceeds a predetermined allowable value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
