Abstract:
To provide a toner binder and a toner, which are excellent in low temperature fixability, glossiness, hot-offset resistance, heat-resistant storage property, charge stability, image intensity, document offset property and durability.SOLUTION: A toner binder contains a crystalline resin (A) composed of an alcohol component (X) and a carboxylic acid component (Y) as essential constituent monomers, in which the alcohol component (X) contains 95 to 99.49 mol% of straight chain aliphatic diol (x1) having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, 0.01 to 0.5 mol% of aliphatic monoalcohol (x2) having 20 carbon atoms and 0.5 to 4.5 mol% of aliphatic monoalcohol (x3) having 22 carbon atoms, and the toner binder has at least one peak top temperature of an endothermic peak derived from the crystalline resin (A) in a second temperature-rise step by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in a range of 40 to 100°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
