Abstract:
To provide a viscosity regulator for lubricating oil for obtaining a lubricating oil additive composition having excellent fluidity in a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature, and a lubricating oil composition for the lubricating oil, as well as to provide a viscosity regulator for lubricating oil for obtaining a lubricating oil composition and the lubricating oil composition capable of reducing the viscosity in a balanced manner over a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature.SOLUTION: The viscosity regulator for lubricating oil of the present invention comprises 30 to 50 mol% of structural units derived from at least one α-olefin selected from α-olefins having 4 and 5 carbon atoms, and 50 to 70 mol% of structural units derived from ethylene (provided the total of all structural units is 100 mol%), and also includes ethylene-α-olefin copolymers (A) that meet the requirements of specific requirements (a), (b), and (c).SELECTED DRAWING: None
