Abstract:
To provide an engine component of which a heat insulation layer has high heat insulation property and good adhesion property to a base material.SOLUTION: The engine component includes the metal base material having a surface where a plurality of projection parts are formed, and the heat insulation layer provided on the surface of the base material. The heat insulation layer is formed of a porous material including glasses and inorganic fibers and having continuous pores passing through the heat insulation layer in the thickness direction. Assuming that a planar direction in planarly viewing the surface is a width direction, in a field of view including the surface and having a length of 15 mm in the width direction, out of the cross section of the base material in the thickness direction, the length of the surface measured along the shape of the surface is at least 1.4 times the length in the width direction. In the field of view, there are at least five sites each having a height difference of at least 0.12 mm between the crown and the skirt of the projection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
