Abstract:
To shorten a time for valve-opening an EGR valve to a necessary opening at timing for eliminating an abnormality of the EGR valve, and to improve operability for eliminating the abnormality.SOLUTION: An engine system comprises: an injector 25; an EGR device 10 (including an EGR valve 18 having a step motor 34) for refluxing a part of the exhaust emission of an engine 1 to the engine 1 as an EGR gas; and an electronic control device (ECU) 50 for controlling the injector 25, the EGR valve 18 or the like on the basis of an operation state of the engine 1. At the deceleration of the engine, the ECU 50 diagnoses a foreign-matter bite-in abnormality of the EGR valve 18, and diameters of a bite-in foreign matters on the basis of detected intake pressure, and when the existence of the abnormality is determined, and also the diameters of the foreign matters are determined, the ECU controls the step motor 34 in order to hold the EGR valve 18 at a first opening which is smaller than a second opening necessary for removing the foreign matters before a fuel cut is performed to the engine 1 by the injector 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
