Abstract:
To provide a method for maintaining a function of an immersion heater by removing oxygen that has entered the immersion heater.SOLUTION: In an immersion heater 10 immersed into a molten metal to heat the molten metal, a heating element 13 and a conductor 19 are incorporated in a protective tube 12 constituting a heater body 11, and powder 14 for heat conduction is filled between the protective tube 12 and the heating element 13 and between the protective tube 12 and the conductor 19. In a method for maintaining a function of the immersion heater, inert gas is filled between the protective tube 12 and the heating element 13 and between the protective tube 12 and the conductor 19. The inert gas is filled after air at the inside of the heater body 11 has been sucked out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
