Abstract:
To prevent a foreign material such as cutting chips and wood dust, adhering to a chain conveying a veneer from being ignited in a veneer drying device.SOLUTION: In a veneer drying device 10 which is configured so as to expose a veneer to hot wind and dry while being conveyed from an inlet 12 to an outlet 13 of a dry chamber by conveyance means 14 having a chain 15 circulating inside and outside the dry chamber 11, foreign material removing means 24 for removing a foreign material derived from the veneer, and adhering to the chain is provided in a place where the chain comes from the dry chamber, especially an inlet side. The foreign material removing means has a wire brush 27 abutting on the lateral face of the chain, and can adjust abutting pressure by an air cylinder 26. The foreign material removed from the chain falls down and is collected in a tray 18 (foreign material housing means) provided below the device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
