Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a continuously cast slab which enables a sufficient light rolling draft to be provided under a wider range of manufacturing requirements without modifying light draft facilities and generates little center segregation.SOLUTION: A method is provided for casting by bulging a cast slab 10 by providing a light draft to a cast slab 10, when drafted thereafter in a light rolling draft zone 14, at a bulging amount of 2-15 mm in a segment 14B configured of a plurality of cast slab support roll pairs, at a draft gradient of 1.0-4.0 mm, including cast slab pulling-out direction position where a minimum solid phase rate of a cast slab cross section is 0.7, and by expanding the gap between a first pair of cast slab support rolls from the inlet side of the segment wider than the gap between a roll pair just ahead to satisfy a predetermined relational expression.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
