Abstract:
To provide a steering unit characterized in that a rise characteristic of friction occurring when a rack shaft begins moving is alleviated.SOLUTION: A steering unit 1 includes a rack shaft 30 having a rack gear 31 that is driven in a translatory direction by a pinion gear 22, and a rack housing 40 that accommodates the rack shaft while supporting the rack shaft so that the rack shaft can be relatively displaced. The steering unit includes an inner diameter bushing 110 that is inserted with the rack shaft in a slidable state, and an outer diameter bushing 120 that is disposed on an internal surface 41 of the rack housing, has the inner diameter bushing inserted into its inner diameter side, and can transmit an axial force to or from the inner diameter bushing. At least one of the inner diameter bushing and outer diameter bushing includes a deformation induction part 122 that is elastically deformed with the axial force and permits axially relative displacement between the inner diameter bushing and outer diameter bushing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
