Abstract:
To provide a hydrogen production apparatus and a hydrogen production process that can produce a high-purity hydrogen.SOLUTION: The hydrogen production apparatus 1 according to an embodiment is a hydrogen production apparatus that generates hydrogen by electrolyzing an alkaline aqueous solution, and comprises: an electrolytic tank 10 that is divided into an anode chamber 12 and a cathode chamber 13 by a partition wall 11 and electrolyzes an alkaline aqueous solution; a circulation path (gas-liquid separators 20,30 and a reservoir tank 40) in which the oxygen gas generated in the anode chamber 12 and the hydrogen gas generated in the cathode chamber 13 are separated from the alkaline aqueous solution flowing out from the anode chamber 12 and the cathode chamber 13, and the alkaline aqueous solution from which oxygen gas and hydrogen gas were separated is returned to the anode chamber 12 and the cathode chamber 13; and a hydrogen feed unit 60 for feeding hydrogen generated in the cathode chamber 13 to the alkaline aqueous solution in the circulation path described above.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
