Abstract:
To provide a friction agitation joining means which can suppress the occurrence of a joining defect.SOLUTION: A first friction agitation joining objective region WP1 and a second friction agitation joining objective region WP2 are continuously joined to each other in this order by scanning a friction agitation tool FT along the first friction agitation joining objective region WP1 having a flat external peripheral face extending to a prescribed direction, and the second friction agitation joining objective region WP2 having a curved external peripheral face extending to the prescribed direction from an end part of the external peripheral face of the first friction agitation joining objective region WP1 in an extension direction. Relative positions or postures of the friction agitation tool FT and a joining objective member are controlled so that a rear half of a shoulder part of the friction agitation tool FT in a scanning direction deeply intrudes into the friction agitation joining objective region compared with a front half part, and an intrusion depth d of the shoulder part into the first friction agitation joining objective region WP1 and an intrusion depth d of the shoulder part into the second friction agitation joining objective rear WP2 becomes the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
