Abstract:
To provide a robot for extruding a tower or a column.SOLUTION: The robot comprises an extrusion nozzle, a positioning system, a climbing apparatus, and a controller. The extrusion nozzle controllably extrudes uncured construction material. The positioning system controllably causes the extrusion nozzle to traverse a perimeter layer of a tower or a column. The climbing apparatus controllably causes the robot to climb. The controller autonomously directs the positioning system to cause the nozzle to traverse the perimeter layer of the tower or the column, directs the nozzle to extrude the uncured construction material during the traverse, directs the climbing apparatus to cause the robot to climb an incremental amount, and repeats each of the foregoing positioning, extrusion, and climbing steps until the extruded tower or the extruded column attains a desired height.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
