To provide an air journal bearing that can withstand loads exerted over a wide range of radial angles.SOLUTION: A quad foil journal air bearing includes a journal sleeve having an inner circumference that defines an inner surface. A first foil assembly includes a first key coupled to the inner surface of the journal sleeve.
