Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of supplying sufficient amount of developer from a developer storage part to an image forming part main body, smoothly performing printing and improving image quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an apparatus main body; an apparatus cover; an image forming part comprising an image forming part main body and a developer storage part; and an exposure device which is attached to the apparatus cover. The developer storage part comprises a housing, a shutter, a shutter lever 43 for opening and closing the shutter, and a memory part in which information about the developer storage part is recorded. The memory part and the apparatus main body are electrically connected when the shutter lever 43 is placed in a shutter open position which opens the shutter completely. Image forming is not performed when the amount of developer supplied to the image forming apparatus main body is not enough because printing operation is performed only when the shutter is in the shutter open position and thereby the memory part and the apparatus main body are electrically connected and the information about the developer storage part recorded in the memory part is read.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
