Abstract:
To provide means capable of keeping a preload within a proper range.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a hub unit bearing comprises: a caulking step for performing caulking work of an axial end part of a hub wheel (11) while rotationally driving an outer ring (2) with respect to a hub (3); and a preload confirmation step for measuring a rotational speed change of the outer ring (2) while rotating the outer ring (2) with respect to the hub (3) by using only inertia after completion of the caulking step, and confirming whether a preload of the hub unit bearing (1) is kept within a proper range or not, on the basis of the measured rotational speed change.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
