Abstract:
To provide a sensor element and a gas sensor that enable early activation and suppress damage to the element due to heating of a heater.SOLUTION: A stacked sensor element 19 extends in an axis O direction and has at least one or more cells 150 and 160 having solid electrolyte bodies 152 and 162 and electrode pairs 153, 155 and 163, 165 disposed on surfaces of the solid electrolyte bodies. The sensor element includes a first heater 146 and a second heater 147 connected via a pair of via conductors 148v with the cell therebetween in the stacking direction. The first heater has a first heating resistor 146m, and the second heater has a second heating resistor 147m. When viewed from the stacking direction, at least a part of the first heating resistor and a part of the second heating resistor overlaps with overlapping portions L1 and L2 of the electrode pairs, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
