Abstract:
To restrain an interval between tooth parts of a driven gear and a drive gear from being shortened when the driven gear of a balancer shaft approximates the drive gear of a crankshaft.SOLUTION: In a balance shaft 20, a driven gear 30 and a first balancer mass 24 are located at one side rather than a center in an axial line direction in a shaft body 22. In the driven gear 30, when a virtual circle which passes through a point where a width of a tooth part 34 in a peripheral direction is the widest, and in which a center axial line of the driven gear 30 is set as a center, is defined as a pitch circle, an interval of the adjacent tooth parts 34 on the pitch circle becomes larger in a range in the peripheral direction in which a mass part 24b of the first balancer mass 24 exists in a plane view from the axial line direction of the shaft body 22 compared with a range in the peripheral direction in which the mass part 24b does not exist.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
