Abstract:
To provide an air cooler in which defrosting can be performed with sublimation defrosting, particularly exfoliation type sublimation defrosting, and heat transfer unevenness does not occur during normal operation and during defrosting, in a first purpose, and to provide a defrosting method for the air cooler that does not cause defrosting unevenness, and can save energy and reduce costs when performing defrosting with the sublimation defrost, in a second purpose.SOLUTION: An air cooler according to one embodiment, comprises: a plurality of plates having a plurality of refrigerant flow passages formed inside, juxtaposed with each other at intervals; an inlet header that communicates with each of the plurality of refrigerant flow passages and supplies a refrigerant to the refrigerant flow passages; and an outlet header that communicates with each of the plurality of refrigerant flow passages and discharges the refrigerant from the refrigerant flow passages. The refrigerant flow passage is configured to extend linearly along a vertical direction; the inlet header communicates with the lower side of the refrigerant flow passage; and the outlet header communicates with the upper side of the refrigerant flow passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
