Abstract:
To make an internal combustion engine more compact while sealing a combustion chamber in a reliable manner.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes a cylinder 10 that can rotate around a rotation axis L, an outer peripheral member 20 arranged fixed to the periphery of the cylinder, a combustion chamber defined in the cylinder, and a driving unit. The driving unit includes a piston that is housed in the cylinder so as to slide in a rotation axis direction, and defines the combustion chamber, a slot formed on a peripheral surface of the cylinder, a cam arranged fixed to the periphery of the slot, a follower extending from the piston to the cam through the slot, and a communication hole 90a formed on the peripheral surface of the cylinder so as to communicate with the combustion chamber. The internal combustion engine 1 further includes seal members 100 and 100 for generating a dynamic pressure effect when the cylinder rotates, between the cylinder and an outside member 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
