Abstract:
To improve the assemblability of a self-aligning roller bearing, to prevent the intrusion of foreign matters into a bearing by means of an annular member fitted to a cage, to improve the fitting accuracy of the annular member, and to enable a bearing internal clearance to be measured.SOLUTION: The assemblability of a bearing is improved by enabling an assembly comprised of an inner ring 10, a large number of rollers 30 and a cage 40 to be inserted into the inside of an outer ring 20 by employing the metal plate-made basket-type cage 40. The intrusion of foreign matters is prevented by a flange 44 of the cage 40 and a salient part 51 of an annular shield plate 50 fitted to the flange 44. The fitting accuracy of the shield plate 50 is improved by the entire peripheral contact of a rear-side surface 52 of the shield plate 50 and the flange 44. A clearance gauge can be inserted into a clearance between a spherical raceway 21 and the rollers 30 by employing a salient part 51 having a diameter smaller than that of a virtual spherical surface S including the spherical raceway 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
