Abstract:
To provide a technique allowing for improvement of strength of joining between tapered bearing members and a shaft member while preventing the deformation of the tapered bearing members.SOLUTION: A spindle motor 1 comprises: tapered bearing members (an upper tapered bearing member 22a and a lower tapered bearing member 22b) having conical outer surfaces (a lower conical outer surface 22ab and an upper conical outer surface 22bu) opposing a conical inner surface 31d of a rotor member (rotor 30), and fixed to a shaft member 21; a dynamic pressure groove D which is formed at least at either of the conical inner surface 31d and the conical outer surfaces (the lower conical outer surface 22ab and the upper conical outer surface 22bu); lubricating oil G filled into a clearance between the conical inner surface 31d and the conical outer surfaces (the lower conical outer surface 22ab and the upper conical outer surface 22bu); and retention members (an upper retention member 23a and a lower retention member 23b) which abut on and are fixed to the tapered bearing members (the upper tapered bearing member 22a and the lower tapered bearing member 22b) at one axial end side (an upper (an arrow-a direction) or a lower (an arrow-b direction)).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
