Abstract:
To provide a brake device which enables improvement of work efficiency when brake force of a spring brake mechanism is released by manual operation, and to provide a railway vehicle.SOLUTION: A brake device 100 includes: a spring brake mechanism which presses a brake shoe to a pressed member with spring force to generate brake force; and a brake manual release device 400 which prevents transmission of the spring force to the brake shoe to release the brake force. Multiple cable parts 420 of the brake manual release device 400 are provided for the spring brake mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
