Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces attachment of toner in forming a halftone image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed by exposure; a developing device that stores a developer containing toner and develops the image carrier; and a recovery member 44 that recovers a developer scattering from the developing device into the developing device, and the image forming apparatus can form a halftone image. The image forming apparatus includes an input unit on which a user selects a screen type related to the definition of an image, an adjustment unit that makes variable the intensity of an electric field between the recovery member 44 and the image carrier, and a control unit that controls the adjustment unit to change the intensity of the electric field according to the selected screen type.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
