Abstract:
To provide a vehicle body framework member capable of diminishing an in-plane tension load incurred by a flange, and inhibiting rupture of a spot-weld part.SOLUTION: A center pillar 10 includes: a main unit 16 of a closed section structure including an outer panel 12 that forms part of a framework of a lateral part of a vehicle while being extended in vertical directions or a vehicular fore-and-aft direction, and has a flexural neutral axis N1 on a section substantially perpendicular to an extending direction, and an inner panel 14 that is disposed inside in a vehicle width direction of the outer panel 12, and has flanges 14A and 14B, which are disposed in the vehicular fore-and-aft direction substantially perpendicular to the extending direction or at both ends in a vehicular vertical direction, welded to the outer panel 12; and a flexural neutral axis displacement part 18 that has addition members 20 and 22 disposed in the middle in the extending direction of the main unit 16 and included in the inner panel 14, and that has therefore the flexural neutral axis N1 displaced toward the flanges compared with when the addition members 20 and 22 are not included.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
