Abstract:
To provide a bumper system that can protect a foot of a pedestrian when a vehicle collides with the pedestrian and protect an occupant in the vehicle when the vehicle collides with an object, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: The bumper system comprises a control unit, when determining that a vehicle 1 collides with a pedestrian, at a front bumper 11 side on the basis of a detected result by a monocular camera 21 and a mili-meter wave radar 22, controls actuators 12 so that the actuators pull the front bumper 11 from the pedestrian side and when determining that the vehicle 1 collides with an object other than the pedestrian, at the front bumper 11 side, controls the actuators 12 so that the actuators operate to press the front bumper 11 against the object side other than the pedestrian.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
