To provide a torque converter that can both reduce the weight of a pressure container and ensure pressure resistance.SOLUTION: A torque converter 1 has a front cover 8 and an impeller shell 7 constituting a torque converter container 6 formed of an aluminum material, the torque converter having reinforcement plates 24-28 attached to the torque converter container 6 and formed of a material with higher rigidity than that of the aluminum material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
