Abstract:
To provide a simple and inexpensive method for suppressing proliferation of algae, or inducing dysbolism to algae cells by using fine particles having polystyrene as the main skeleton.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for inhibiting or perishing proliferation of algae in a solution or on a solid surface by using particles which are fine particles having polystyrene as the main skeleton, and have affinity to components constituting the cell walls of algae, or protein and enzyme arranged on the cell walls. ALternatively, there is provided a method for inducing the start of production of useful products or an increase in a production quantity by giving stimulation and stress to algae and inducing dysbolism by exposing the particles having the characteristics.SELECTED DRAWING: None
