Abstract:
To properly remove contaminants adhered to an exterior surface of a sensor cover, regardless of a kind of the contaminants.SOLUTION: A cleaning device 30 of a sensor cover 25 includes: plural types of jetting units (cleaning liquid jetting unit 31, compressed-air jetting unit 36); and a control device 50 for controlling operation of the jetting units. The plural types of jetting units are provided for each kind of cleaning medium (cleaning liquid, compressed air), and the above cleaning medium is jetted on an exterior surface 28 of the sensor cover 25. The control device 50 acquires positional information of a vehicle 10 by using GPS, and predicts a meteorological state in the periphery of the vehicle 10, on the basis of the above positional information, and meteorological information provided through at least the Internet 46 and containing information related to dust floating in the air. The control device 50 selects a cleaning medium kind according to the predicted meteorological state, and operates a jetting unit having the selected cleaning medium kind as a jetting object, among the plural types of jetting units, in order to jet the above cleaning medium on the exterior surface 28 of the sensor cover 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
