Abstract:
To easily remove a snap ring for positioning from a shaft upon replacing boots.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint comprises an outer joint member 15, and an inner joint member 16 that transmits rotation torque while allowing angular displacement through a ball 17 between itself and the outer joint member 15, wherein the end part of a shaft 13 is inserted into a shaft hole 19 of the inner joint member 16, a snap ring 25 is fitted into an annular groove 32 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft 13, and the snap ring 25 is locked to the end surface of the shaft hole of the inner joint member 16. The shaft end part side of the annular groove 32 is a tapered wall surface 33 inclined to an axial line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
