Abstract:
To improve magnetostrictive properties of a magnetostrictive alloy.SOLUTION: A method for producing a magnetostrictive alloy has a surface treatment step (step S2) of forming a plated layer containing at least Ga on the surface of an Fe-Si-based alloy by melting plating, and an annealing step (step S4) in which an intermediate, which is the Fe-Si-based alloy on the surface of which the plated layer containing at least Ga is formed by the surface treatment step, is annealed so that Ga permeates the Fe-Si-based alloy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
