To provide a vibration damping device that damps vibration caused by a wide frequency band, and to provide an electric actuator.SOLUTION: A vibration damping device includes: a vibration absorption part 36 installed between a first support part 42 and a second support part 44 installed opposite to the first support part 42 and extending and contracting with a current; a measurement part 38 for measuring vibration of the second support part 44; and a control unit 40 for electrically controlling the vibration absorption part 36 so as to cancel the vibration of the second support part 44 that is measured by the measurement part 38.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
