Abstract:
To suppress generation of a negative pressure in an internal rack housing while achieving compactification of a reduction gear.SOLUTION: A steering gear 100 includes: a rack shaft 130; a rack housing 131; a pinion shaft 160; a worm wheel 159 connected with the pinion shaft 160 to be integrally rotatable; a reduction gear 150 with a worm shaft; a cylindrical reduction gear housing 151; a motor 140 for driving the worm shaft; a plate-shaped cover 180 for sealing an opening in the reduction gear housing 151; and a breather valve 170 mounted on the cover 180 under a penetration state. The cover 180 includes a concave-shaped mounting part 181 mounted so that the breather valve 170 is positioned nearer to the pinion shaft 160 side than an external surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
