Abstract:
To provide an improved bodily fluid drainage system including a collection vessel and a mechanical volume limiting mechanism to prevent overfill of the collection chamber, where the volume capacity of the collection chamber is adjustable.SOLUTION: In an improved volume limiting bodily fluid drainage system, a proportion of volume within a collection chamber 10' taken up by a rack-and-pinion volume limiting mechanism 90, 95 is minimized and not susceptible to malfunction in the event of exposure to bodily fluid, and the volume capacity of the fluid collection chamber is adjustable.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
