Abstract:
To provide a separable composite fiber in which a part of segments composing the same has a core-sheath structure, and further, having increased card passability and suitably usable for a short fiber non-woven cloth, a short fiber non-woven cloth comprising the same, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A separable composite fiber comprises a first segment and a second segment, in which the first segment is a resin segment consisting of a first component, the second segment is a core/sheath type resin segment having a cross-sectional structure in which the first component is used as a core component and the second component is used as a sheath component. The first component is a resin component containing a polypropylene resin by 50 mass% or higher, and the second component is a resin component containing a polyethylene resin by 50 mass% or higher. The separable composite fiber has a single fiber strength of 1.8 to 4.2 cN/dtex, an elongation of 30 to 200%, and an apparent Young's modulus of 700 to 4,000 N/mm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
