Abstract:
To provide a sheet conveying device capable of preventing a sheet from being damaged when correcting skew thereof.SOLUTION: A sheet conveying device includes: a detecting member extended in parallel with a pair of rollers for correcting skew of a sheet by abutting a tip of the sheet against the pair of stopped rollers; and detection means for detecting at least one end of the detecting member by causing a loop of the sheet generated when a tip of the sheet abuts on the pair of rollers to push up the detecting member. The sheet is controlled in correction of the skew based on the time from when one end of the detecting member is detected by the detection means to when the other end thereof is detected by the detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
