Title:
PERICARDIAL CATHETER WITH TEMPERATURE SENSING ARRAY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2020062430
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a catheter adapted for use in the pericardial sac for sensing temperature of an ablation site and surrounding heart tissue within one of the ventricles and atria of the heart via proximity with the epicardium in the pericardial sac.SOLUTION: The catheter comprises an elongated catheter body, and a temperature sensing array distal to the catheter body. The temperature sensing array comprises a 2-D body, and comprises at least one temperature sensing member adapted for use in the pericardial sac. The 2-D body comprises a top member 43, a bottom member 44, and tubing 40 positioned between the top member 43 and the bottom member 44. The temperature sensing members comprise thermocouple wire pairs 28, 29 extending between the top member 43 and the bottom member 44, and has temperature sensing locations on the 2-D body. The thermocouple wire pairs 28, 29 extend through the tubing 40 and exit the tubing 40 via holes 56 formed in the tubing 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
