To provide a shifting operation control device that can further improve convenience, and to provide a shifting operation control method.SOLUTION: A shifting operation control device 1 includes: an urging device 20 for imparting urging force to a control lever 30; and a control device 10 that, when a shifting operation is executed and movement of the control lever 30 is started, determines whether the shifting operation is a predetermined prohibited operation or not. When the shifting operation is the predetermined prohibited operation, the control device 10 controls the urging device 20 so as not to provide the urging force to the control lever 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
