Abstract:
To provide a rope length measurement device capable of measuring length with accuracy without being restricted with a site of the rope for the rope for an elevator covered with an exterior covering layer.SOLUTION: A rope length measurement device comprises a detector for radiating a light to an exterior covering layer of a rope for an elevator and detecting an indication formed in a predetermined gap in a longitudinal direction of the exterior covering layer by a strength of a light of a radiation light and a reflection light, a sliding part for sliding the detector along the longitudinal direction of the rope and a displacement meter for measuring a distance between the indication detected by the detector previous time and the indication detected this time based on the distance for which the sliding part has slid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
