Abstract:
To provide a travel control device for a vehicle capable of reducing discomfort of a driver by securing degree of freedom of an operation by the driver when there is a collision possibility with an obstacle in front of an own vehicle.SOLUTION: A travel control device includes: a traffic congestion tail determination part for determining whether or not there is an obstacle in front of a vehicle at a traffic congestion tail; and an avoidance space presence/absence determination part for determining whether or not there is an avoidance space, at the traffic congestion tail, which can allow an own vehicle to avoid without contacting or abnormally approaching a plurality of targets including the obstacle when it is determined that there is the obstacle. When it is determined that there is the avoidance space, the travel control device performs first deceleration control in a condition where a margin time TTC is equal to or less than a first threshold. When it is determined that there is no avoidance space, the travel control device performs second deceleration control at deceleration smaller than deceleration in the first deceleration control in a condition where the margin time TTC is equal to or less than a second threshold which is larger than the first threshold, further the travel control device performs the first deceleration control in a condition where the margin time TTC is equal to or less than the first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
