Abstract:
To provide a pneumatic tire reduced in weight and resultantly reduced in rolling resistance, while securing rigidity and cutting resistance.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 1 comprises a tread part 2, a pair of side wall parts 3, a pair of bead cores 5, a first ply 11 and a discontinuous second ply 12 having a pair of ply pieces 13. The first ply 11 has a center part 11a positioned in the tread part 2, a pair of side parts 11b extending respectively from both ends of the center part 11a and a pair of wound up parts 11c extended from the pair of side parts 11b and respectively wound up to the pair of bead cores 5. Pair of ply pieces 13 of the second ply 12 have respectively side parts 13c extending from an inner end part 13a and wound-up parts 13d continuing to the side part 13c and wound up to either of the pair of bead cores 5. Modulus of the first ply 11 is lower than modulus of the pair of ply pieces 13. Fracture strength of the first play 11 is lower than fracture strength of the pair of ply pieces 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
