Abstract:
To improve practicality of a single wheel steering device for steering only one of a plurality of wheels which are arranged in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A steering device 20 is constituted of: (a) a steering knuckle 16a for rotatably holding wheels W; (b) an electric motor 26 and a reduction gear 28 for decelerating the rotation of the electric motor which are fixed to a suspension arm 12; and (c) a joint 24 for supporting the steering knuckle to the suspension arm while permitting an inclination of a king pin axial line KP, and connecting an output shaft of the reduction gear and the steering knuckle in order to turn the steering knuckle around the king pin axial line by an operation of the electric motor. Even if wheels are bounded or rebounded, the wheels can be smoothly steered by an operation of the joint.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
