Abstract:
To provide a vehicle drive unit which can be operated in a space-saving and energy-saving manner while constituting a driven-plate separation mechanism by a simple structure.SOLUTION: In a vehicle drive unit having a differential device (5) to which a drive force of a drive source (3) is transmitted via a reduction mechanism (4), a drive force separation mechanism (9) for releasing connection with the reduction mechanism (4) is arranged between the reduction mechanism (4) and the differential device (5), the drive force separation mechanism (9) has a drive plate (45b) of the reduction mechanism (4), and a driven plate (8) at the differential device (5) side so as to move toward and away from each other, cams (45c) are arranged at faces of the opposing drive plate (45b) and the driven plate (8), the drive force separation mechanism (9) is held in a connection state, and an abutment body (61) for releasing the connection state by fusion is arranged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
